The Wedding Day

We got married at 2:00pm at the Jordan River Temple.  The wedding was amazing.  It was a beautiful day, and everything went smoothly... well, for the most part :-) We had a few obstacles but it all turned out well.  In the sealing room there were a lot of teary eyes.  It was a wonderful day!

The Dinner:
We had a dinner with close family and friends instead of a big reception.  It was a blast.  We had it in the event room at the Blue Lemon in Highland.  The food was yummy and it was fun seeing everyone.

Getting sewn into my belt... it had issues and may have caused a few problems during the day

My best girls.  We have known each other since elementary/junior high

The Honeymoon:

For the first night we stayed at The Radisson in Salt Lake (thanks Kim!).  The next day we drove to Vegas and spent a night there at the Trump Tower.  Holy crap! I have never stayed in such a nice hotel.  AMAZING!  We played around town a little but didn't have a lot of time there.  On Sunday we went to church at a ward in Vegas and then hit the road and drove to Long Beach.

The Big Shot in Vegas
Future Note: Long Beach is a DIVE!  Perhaps there is a better side of town, but we didn't see it, and are doubtful of it.  We stayed at a Holiday Inn, and our room reeked of fresh cut marijuana.  Well my dear sweet hubbie (former narcotics detective) searched the room and concluded that someone recently had been smuggling marijuana through.  I am pretty sure he slept with his gun that night in case someone came back to get the weed out of the vents or something ;-).  The next day we ventured to the most ghetto Walmart I have ever seen. My camera decided to die the day before so we needed to buy a new one.  This Walwart's shelves looked like a thrift store, unorganized and dirty.  When we told them we wanted a camera it took at least 15minutes to locate the keys to the camera case... because obviously no one ever buys camera's there.  This "expensive" point and shoot camera had to be bought in the electronics department to make sure we wouldn't steal it. Then, to leave the store it was like Sam's Club and Costco, where everyone had to show their receipt to a worker who checks all the items in the cart.

The Cruise:
After our Walmart adventure we boarded Carnival Inspiration.  Ethan had never been on a cruise before, and now I have him addicted to them!  SO. MUCH. FUN.!!!  This was a 4 day cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada.

Our room was decorated as a wedding gift.. thanks Chistie and Garrard!

Another gift from Christie and Garrard!  Our servers brought this to us the first night at dinner singing, "Happy honeymoon to you, kissie kissie" over and over again.  I wish I could imitate their accents.  It was epic.

Ethan did karaoke.. oh ya!

Out of all the fabulous food we ate these Nachos were my favorite!  SOOO addicting!!!

Catalina Island:  This is a beautiful island we would love to go back to.  It just has that quaint small town feeling, we loved it.  On Catalina we went on a kayaking excursion to Turtle Rock, the entire trip was about 2 hours.  I think this was one of our favorite parts of the entire trip.

Ensenada:  In Ensenada we went to La bufadora (the blow hole).  The blow hole is located on the Punta Banda Peninsula.  Sea water that was trapped in the cave exploded upward. It was pretty cool.  There were a lot of vendors, we didn't really buy anything but we did get some amazing churros!

In Ensenada we also went to an old hotel where big dances were held and Hollywood stars like Lucille Ball would attend back in the day. This building is full of amazing history.  Now it belongs to the community.

After our warm sunny vacation we drove home and were welcomed by a blizzard from Cedar City all the way to Draper.  Needless to say, it made out long drive extra long. But we had lots of fun, I love car trips  :-)

Family Vacation
While we were on our honeymoon Kensie's Dad took her to Disneyland, so I do think she missed me much.  But we wanted to include Kensie as much as possible, because we were becoming a family.  So a couple of days after returning from our honeymoon, we took Kensie to Park City.  It was cold and snowy and so much fun!  We swam, watched movies, played in the snow, ate pizza, and swam some more (my daughter is a fish).

So there you have it. Our story in a nut shell.  Life is good.
