February Happy Thoughts

 1. Two weeks from now I will be floating around the Caribbean on a great big ship:

This fabulous trip was supposed to happen in November, then maybe December, and then perhaps January.  But good things come to those who wait and it is FINALLY happening! My sister, Amy and brother-in-law, Chuck work for Disney and they get fabulous discounts on Disney cruises... I wont tell you how fabulous because you will just get jealous.  They can also get us into Disney world for free, yes you heard that right.  SO to take as much advantage of Amy and Chuck as possible, on February the 23rd I will leave this chilly state with three-year-old in tow and head to sunny Florida.  We will then spend a couple of days playing at Disney World and then embark on the long awaited cruise.  Seven days and counting... !

2. Pedicure: Last mothers day Amy entered me in a mothers day contest for a free pedicure and I won!!!  Of course being me I never called and made the appointment.  Now, almost a year latter I am finally going to get that pedicure.  I am going on a cruise, I have to have cute toes :-)

3. Exercising: I have kept up on this goal... but in all honesty I have not been as faithful as I was last month.
I am getting toned.  You should be proud.  I am already having muscles show that have been hiding my entire life. Tough Biff.  Kensie loves to join me, I had to buy her some of her own weights.  Any of you mothers out there have any good work out tips that are possible with kids around?

4.  LOST:

So I am way behind on the times, but I just finished watching all of the season episodes.  It is a good show, but the first couple of seasons are by far the best.  Awhile ago I decided to watch LOST because I was bored.  I put Kensie to bed by 8:00pm every night and then I am alone and bored, (I know, I have no life).  Now on the agenda: The Office.

5. A few weeks ago I worked with a new tech (CNA) that I had never met before.  After our formal introductions she says, "You are beautiful by the way".  Wow, can I just say she made my day! It is not everyday a girl gets called beautiful.  Then, one Sunday after giving a seventy-year-old man a ride home from church he said this to me: "I don't want you to think I am flirting but I have always thought you are a very attractive woman".  I only make these comments to remind myself who I am, and because I write for myself and not the listener I am going to get personal.  After a person has experienced what I have, it is hard to feel beautiful.  I think Heavenly Father is trying to remind me who I am, a beautiful daughter of God and no one can change that. Although these comments were made about my outward appearance the lesson learned goes much deeper than that, never forget who you are.

6. Spring cleaning:

I am cleaning out the clutter in my life (in all aspects).  But right now I am going to talk about actual cleaning.  Yes, I know it is not really spring yet, but my house has been driving me nuts.  You know all those stupid random things that you can't throw away yet for some reason or another?  I hate that stuff.  And all the excess in my home ends up in my bedroom since I don't have a lot of storage space.  It is very annoying.  SO I am starting spring cleaning early and going to organize all cabinets and closets, and actually organize my bedroom and throw all excess away! But of course there are going to be a few things I might need sometime in the near future...

7. Budget: I must say that I love Microsoft Excel.  Even though I have no idea how to use the dang thing, I can just pull up a template that is pre-made just for me, enter the numbers I want, and whala... it calculates everything I need to know!   I love technology.

8. My bucket list:

Have I ever mentioned that I have a bucket list? My bucket list has a few things that may be hard to accomplish but most of them I think are pretty doable.  What can I say, I am a girl that is to please.  One thing I REALLY want to do is ride in a hot air balloon!  I want to do this so badly... it may sound silly to you, but I think it would be so much fun :-) While we are on the subject of bucket lists, have you ever seen the movie?  If not it is a must see, go rent "The Bucket List" with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson... you will be glad you did, or you can just borrow it from me.

9.  Teaching McKensie: Another one of my new years resolutions is to make Kensie's education a priority.  I have been making lesson plans and trying to figure out the best way to teach her everything she needs to know before kindergarten.  Here is a great website for preschool age lessons: http://www.first-school.ws/INDEX.HTM. I really like this site! It has everything from the ABC's, writing, shapes, colors, to fairy tales.  If you are a mom, I highly recommend it!
